What is UPTET 2023?

The UPTET exam is a state-level-based entrance test. This test is conducted for candidates who want to join the teacher’s training sector for either the primary or junior high school level. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) conducts the Teacher Eligibility Test commonly known as UPTET every year. Candidates can apply for the test once the official notification and UPTET application form have been announced by the Board.

UPTET 2023 Vacancy

To note, the UPTET 2023 is a qualifying examination. It does not offer direct recruitment to the candidates. Candidates appearing for the exam must qualify for the cut-off laid by the exam conducting body to get the eligibility certificate. After obtaining the eligibility certificate, the candidates are eligible to apply for teaching jobs in Uttar Pradesh. The eligibility certificate issued by UPBEB after the UPTET exam is valid only for five years from the date of issue.

UPTET 2023 Application Fee

Candidates have to pay the required fee once they have completed registering for the exam. The UPTET application fee can only be paid through an online portal (Debit/Credit Cards or Various Banks). Below we have given the expected UPTET 2023 application fee details for different categories.

UPTET 2023 Selection Process

• The exam UPTET 2023 will consist of two papers.
•  Paper I can be attended by aspirants who wish to teach classes I-V. 
• Paper II will be for candidates who wish to teach classes VI-VIII. 
• The candidates who wish to teach classes I-VIII will have to appear for both papers. 
• The candidates who score a minimum of 60% marks in the written test will be declared qualified.
• An eligibility certificate will be issued to the qualified candidates to apply for teaching in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. 
• The validity of the eligibility certificate is five years from the date.

UPTET 2023 Exam Pattern 

The UPTET 2023 exam pattern for both papers I and Paper II are given below. The written test will be an MCQ-based test. Check the tables below to know more.

Given below is the exam pattern for Upper Primary Level- Paper II

• Both papers will be an MCQ-based.
• There are two different types of papers in the examination; Paper I for Class 1 to 5, and Paper II for Class 6 to 8.
• The papers will carry 150 marks in total.
• Each question will carry 1 mark each.
• There will be no negative marking in the marking scheme.
• Candidates who score 60% in the exam will be considered qualified.
• The exam will be of 150 minutes in total.

UPTET 2023 Exam Day Guidelines 

The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is generally conducted in offline mode as it is a pen-and-paper-based test. Below are some of the important things that candidates need to keep in check on the day of the exam are as follows:

1. Candidates should be ready with their writing material which includes at least two ballpoint pens of black and blue colour according to their preference and also the pencils and associated material.
2. Candidates should not forget to bring their admit card which has all of their information and is needed for the authentication of the individual making it a very important document to carry.
3. Along with admit card, candidates are also required to carry two passport size photographs and a photo ID proof (PAN card/driving license/voter ID card/Aadhar card/ration card) to the examination centre.
4. Any type of digital study material or any digital device which can store information is not allowed in the examination centre and failing to do so will result in strict action taken on the concerned candidate.
5. As the covid pandemic is going on, the candidates also need to follow all the covid guidelines which consist of masks, bottles of sanitizer should be carried along with them.

UPTET 2023 Cut Off 

The candidates who will be attending the online written examination will have to score minimum qualifying marks in order to qualify for the exam. Candidates who score the minimum marks also need to score more than the UPTET cut-off marks that are required. We will update the cut-off marks on our portal once announced by the board. • The minimum qualifying mark is 60%, i.e. 90/150 marks. 
• The candidates who qualify for the exam will be accorded the UPTET eligibility certificate.

UPTET offers reputed jobs to the candidates so the level of examination can be difficult. Applicants need to be thorough with every section and answer carefully. It is important to answer with concentration and carefully as marks will be deducted for wrong answers.
